Chennaiyin FC won the 2015 Hero Indian Super League after a rip-roaring 3-2 victory against FC Goa at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda on Sunday. The Super Machans were on the verge of defeat three minutes from full-time, however, two goals in quick succession made Chennaiyin FC the new kings of the Hero ISL. Defensive midfielder Harmanjot Khabra, who played the full 90 minutes, spoke to indiansuperleague.com shortly after the game. Here are the excerpts from the interview.
What do you think went right in the second half?
In the second half, we tried to play more openly and get our way past their defence. I think the credit goes to all our players who gave their best.
After Goa went 2-1 up, were you confident of pulling off a comeback like that?
Chennaiyin FC have always had this never-say-die attitude. We put in our best efforts and the result is out there. By the grace of god, we get to lift the Hero ISL 2015 trophy.
How will you be celebrating tonight?
I think this is one of the best moments of my life, winning the Hero ISL title. Celebrations are going to continue with the team and then my family.
