Jeje Lalpekhlua (Mohun Bagan)

After winning the 2015 ISL and collecting the Best Indian player accolade, Jeje continued his fine form while on loan at Mohun Bagan also as he scored 19 goals in 24 starts to help the Kolkata club finish runners-up in the I-League and emerge champions in the Federation Cup. Jeje broke a couple of records while at Mohun Bagan as his six goals was the most by an Indian in a single edition of the AFC Cup, where the Mariners reached the round of 16. The man from Mizoram also netted eight in the Federation Cup creating a new record of maximum goals in a single edition of the Federation Cup.

The left back played an important role in another successful season for Mohun Bagan as he missed only four of their I-League games and had strong performances in the Federation Cup and AFC Cup also. Dhana’s only goal for Mohun Bagan crucially game in the Federation Cup final against Aizawl.

ISL’s first-ever Indian scorer bagged a goal in each of the first two games of Mohun Bagan’s I-League campaign but then was hampered by an injury which eventually rule him out for the rest of the season.

The young right back made some cameo appearances for Mohun Bagan and picked up the first-ever Federation Cup winners medal of his career.

Thoi Singh (Bengaluru FC)

Thoi was an important member of Bengaluru’s I-League winning squad. The Manipuri was at his all-action best in midfield throughout the campaign and also had the honour of captaining Bengaluru in the AFC Cup where they have reached the quarter-final stage.

Jayesh Rane (Mumbai FC)

I-League position: Fifth

Federation Cup: Quarterfinal

The youngster continued his progress with an encouraging loan spell at his boy-hood club Mumbai FC, netting two important goals in the team’s survival in the I-League.

Mehrajuddin Wadoo (Sporting Clube de Goa)

I-League position: Fourth

Federation Cup: Semifinal

The experienced defender’s solidity was instrumental in Sporting Clube’s impressive fourth-place finish in the I-League with his goal against Shillong Lajong being the highlight.

Karanjit Singh (Salgaocar)

I-League position: Seventh

Federation Cup: Quarterfinal

The goalkeeper played every minute of Salgaocar’s season and produced quite a few man-of-the match displays despite the Goan club’s struggles in the I-League. Karanjit’s presence in goal eventually proved vital as Salgaocar narrowly avoided relegation.
