Adding Colours To Life: Nippon Paint support painter community and launch other initiatives amid COVID-19 lockdown

In this series, Chennaiyin FC aims to highlight the good work being done by all its stakeholders in supporting the community amidst the challenging COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown.

Nippon Paint (India) Private Limited (Decorative Division), Asia’s leading paint manufacturer and two-time Indian Super League champions Chennaiyin FC’s Associate Sponsors, have been extensively helping the community through relief measures and financial assistance in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic and ensuing lockdown period in India.

Most notably, Nippon Paint have been helping provide essential commodities to their key painter partners. Reaching out to them all over India, Nippon Paint are providing them with e-vouchers that they can use to purchase essential goods and groceries from their nearby stores or supermarkets. In cases where they couldn’t travel to such stores, direct distribution of essential items to their homes has been ensured, through tie-ups with local grocery and kirana stores. Moreover, for Nippon Paint painters already possessing an Amudha Surabhi (digital currency) card, they were simply topped up to ensure seamless purchase during these challenging times.

These initiatives have come as a huge relief for painters whose daily income has been affected due to the lockdown. Furthermore, the beneficiaries of these initiatives also include Nippon Paint’s ‘nshakti’ women painters who have been provided skill-training and employment.

“As the entire nation continues to fight the impact of COVID-19, Nippon Paint continues to stand by its painters and collectively fight this battle with them. As a company, we will do whatever it takes to help reduce the economic crunch faced by our painters. We hope that our contribution helps them during this challenging time,” said Mr. S Mahesh Anand, President – Nippon Paint (India) Private Limited (Decorative Division).

Along with these initiatives, Nippon Paint have also been involved in various awareness activities during the lockdown, including creative kolams being made on arterial roads of Chetpet, Nungambakkam and Egmore areas of Chennai city. These creatives highlighted the importance of social distancing, with the official Nippon Paint blobby also sporting a mask to drive home the importance.
