CFC U18s rout Chennai City FC 5-0 in opening game

The Chennaiyin FC U18 side began their U18 Youth League campaign with a fine 5-0 victory over Chennai City FC at the SSN College Ground today. It was a dominant performance by the boys in blue, seeing off their opposition with relative ease.

The CFC boys’ first goal of the season was scored by striker B. Rohmingthanga, in a first-half in which they could have scored a few more. Right-winger Ravinder and forward Suhail Ahmed came close immediately after the goal as Rohmingthanga too missed a chance to add to his tally. Chennaiyin dominated proceedings throughout and finished the first period one goal to the good.

Midway through the second-half, B. Rohmingthanga finally gave his side the much needed cushion of a second goal. And the final five minutes of the match saw a flurry of goals from Chennaiyin, who made it 5-0 courtesy a strike by Zahaid Ahmed sandwiched between two fine goals by Syed Suhail Pasha.

The Chennaiyin U18s will be looking to begin the new year with a similar result when they face Raman Vijayan Soccer School (RVSS) on 3rd January, 2018.
