Driving safely through the roads of Chennai before our clash against Jamshedpur FC

Ninthoi’s been bolting up and down the right wing over the last few matches. And his speed is best saved for the pitch and not the roads of Chennai. So let us just state the obvious here; we’re going to talk about road safety.

According to the National Crime Record Bureau’s Accidental Deaths and Suicides in India 2020, Chennai accounted for 9.2 per cent (or 4,389) of all traffic accidents reported across India. Also known as the “country’s accident capital”, it ranks highest in this list of 53 cities.

So what can we do to make sure our roads are safer for us?

Naturally, we can start by following the most basic of protocols: stick to the speed limit and don’t jump signals. Drinking and driving is definitely a NO. Wearing a helmet or a seatbelt can reduce your fatality risk by even 70% if you do find yourself in an accident.

So here’s us heading full speed ahead (only on the field) to our next encounter against Jamshedpur FC
