Taking a walk at the Madras Crocodile Bank before our southern derby against KBFC!

This one should bring back some fond memories. We all loved the day trips to the Madras Crocodile Park from school. FYI, it is the largest crocodile bank in India. 

𝘉𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘵 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘤𝘶𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘦𝘴, 𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘩𝘪𝘣𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘩𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘦𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, 𝘴𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘤 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘩 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘢𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨, according to their website, it is a unique piece of Chennai’s culture.

But like so many institutions, COVID has not spared this haven to 17 species of crocodiles and 2,000 reptiles including the Komodo dragon. 

The bank made 50 per cent of it’s revenue through ticket sales. But that has obviously stopped since the beginning of the pandemic, putting at risk the upkeep of it’s residents.
