Chennaiyin FC are delighted to announce the signing of Indian midfielder Ayush Dev Chhetri ahead of the 2026-27 season.
The 23-year-old joins the Marina Machans after an impressive spell with FC Goa, where he established himself as one of the country’s most consistent young midfielders. A composed defensive midfielder known for his ball-winning ability, positional awareness and calmness in possession, Ayush adds quality and depth to Chennaiyin FC’s midfield.
Having risen through the ranks at Aizawl FC before making the move to the Indian Super League in 2022, Ayush has already amassed over 60 ISL appearances despite his young age. He has also represented India at both the U-23 and senior national team levels, underlining his rapid development in Indian football.
Speaking after completing the move, Ayush said:
“I’m very happy to be joining CFC. From the conversations I had with the coach and the club, I felt this was the best place for me to continue growing as a player. I really believe in the project, and I’m looking forward to giving my best for the team and making the fans proud.”
Chennaiyin FC Co-owner Vita Dani, welcomed the addition, saying:
“We are delighted to welcome Ayush to the Chennaiyin FC family. He is a talented young player who has already shown tremendous maturity and consistency at the highest level of Indian football. We believe he has the qualities and mindset to grow even further, and we are excited to support him on that journey. We look forward to seeing him contribute to the team’s ambitions and wish him every success in Chennaiyin colours.”
With Ayush now part of the Marina Machans, Chennaiyin FC look forward to seeing him make his mark in blue as the club prepares for the season ahead.
